If you’re dealing with persistent back pain, neck stiffness, or headaches that won’t go away, it can start to impact every part of your life. Simple tasks like sitting at your desk, exercising, or even getting a good night’s sleep can become frustrating challenges. For many people, painkillers only provide short-term relief without addressing the real cause of the problem.

I help people at Flynn Chiro near Burnley find lasting relief from pain and discomfort through hands-on chiropractic care. Whether it’s sciatica making it hard to walk, tension headaches affecting your focus, or poor posture causing ongoing stiffness, I take a tailored approach to treatment—helping you move better and feel better. My goal is to relieve pain, restore mobility, and address the root cause of discomfort—so you can get back to living without limitations.

Find the Cause, Relieve the Pain with Chiropractor Burnley

Pain and stiffness don’t just appear out of nowhere—there’s always an underlying reason. It could be a misalignment in your spine, muscle tension, nerve irritation, or poor movement patterns that have developed over time. Many people suffer from discomfort due to prolonged sitting, repetitive strain from work or exercise, past injuries, or the gradual wear and tear of daily life.

Ignoring these issues often leads to worsening pain, reduced mobility, and a greater impact on your quality of life. That’s why I focus on more than just symptom relief—I work to find and address the source of your discomfort. Through a detailed assessment and hands-on chiropractic care, I help restore proper function, relieve tension, and prevent problems from returning. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain or a recent injury, understanding the cause is the first step toward lasting relief.

Frequently asked questions

What is a chiropractor?

A chiropractor in Australia is a 5 year university educated primary health care practitioner, registered and regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Other practitioners regulated by AHPRA are doctors, nurses, physios and more.

Firstly, as a primary health care practitioner, you don’t need a referral from your GP or a specialist to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors have extensive training in the diagnosis of neuromusculoskeletal (nerve/muscle/bone/joint) problems and can be your first person to speak to when you have a problem.  Chiropractors can refer for medical imaging like X-rays, ultrasounds or MRIs when required, or refer you to the appropriate practitioner if they feel you’ll be best helped elsewhere.

During a first visit, it’s a lot of talking and testing, and the direction the appointment goes in depends a lot on your current condition and history. Taking a full history is extremely important, and allows your chiropractor to more accurately diagnose your problem. The more useful information you can provide, the more specific and effective your treatment will be. Testing might involve observing your posture and movement, the strength of your joints and muscles, the sensation in your nerves or your reflexes – it all depends on what you’re seeking help for.

Chiropractors, like all health care professionals, have a range of different treatments at their disposal. There’s no one magic pill for every problem. Soft tissues (muscles/tendons/fascia) require different treatments to joints. Some treatments are very gentle, some are a bit more forceful. Some chiropractors use hand held tools to assist, or special areas of their treatment table to provide a drop or extra resistance. Everyone is a bit different.

As for me, I do prefer to use both hands-on adjustments (the joint cracking you might have seen or heard of) and various soft tissue techniques. I have a huge variety of different skills and vast experience. For patients who know what has worked in the past – let me know and I can likely perform something similar. For new patients who are a bit apprehensive or unsure – I’ll always explain everything before I actually do it, and can offer multiple options if something isn’t comfortable.

Generally speaking, the adjustments are NOT painful, the soft tissue can be. I’ll never do anything beyond what you can tolerate, and your consent to treatment is extremely important.
