Why Choose Chiropractic Care in Richmond?
Chiropractic care is about more than just pain relief—it’s about addressing the root causes of your symptoms. Whether your discomfort stems from poor posture, injury, or a sedentary lifestyle, I work to improve spinal alignment and reduce nervous system interference. This holistic approach can provide benefits far beyond simple pain management.
Here’s how Richmond chiropractic care can make a difference in your life:
- Restore Mobility: Get back to doing the things you love without limitations.
- Improve Posture: Reduce strain on your muscles and joints caused by poor posture.
- Enhance Overall Wellness: Better spinal health supports better function throughout your body.
Putting the Care into Health Care
At other clinics you might be seen as just a number, or the Doctor or practitioner barely remembers anything about you. I strive to understand the person before us, not just the condition. Getting to know you and your history, your lifestyle, your family – the real you – helps me give the best treatment and advice possible.

More Than Just Short-Term Relief
Many patients come to Flynn Chiro looking for quick symptom relief. While that’s important, my approach goes deeper. Temporary fixes don’t solve underlying issues. I work to address the root causes of pain and discomfort—be it poor posture, an old injury, or spinal misalignment.
As a leading chiropractor Richmond residents trust, I focus on improving spinal alignment to reduce pressure on your nervous system. This not only relieves pain but also enhances your overall health.
Misalignments, or subluxations, can cause more than just back or neck pain. They can disrupt the function of vital systems connected to the nerves, such as digestion, bladder control, and even reproductive health. That’s why Richmond chiropractic care goes beyond pain relief—it’s about restoring function and balance to your body.
I use a combination of chiropractic adjustments, targeted exercises, stretching, and tailored advice to manage a variety of conditions, including:

Frequently asked questions
What is a chiropractor?
A chiropractor in Australia is a 5 year university educated primary health care practitioner, registered and regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Other practitioners regulated by AHPRA are doctors, nurses, physios and more.
So, what does this really mean?
Firstly, as a primary health care practitioner, you don’t need a referral from your GP or a specialist to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors have extensive training in the diagnosis of neuromusculoskeletal (nerve/muscle/bone/joint) problems and can be your first person to speak to when you have a problem. Chiropractors can refer for medical imaging like X-rays, ultrasounds or MRIs when required, or refer you to the appropriate practitioner if they feel you’ll be best helped elsewhere.
What does a first visit look like?
During a first visit, it’s a lot of talking and testing, and the direction the appointment goes in depends a lot on your current condition and history. Taking a full history is extremely important, and allows your chiropractor to more accurately diagnose your problem. The more useful information you can provide, the more specific and effective your treatment will be. Testing might involve observing your posture and movement, the strength of your joints and muscles, the sensation in your nerves or your reflexes – it all depends on what you’re seeking help for.
Why are you asking about one area when my problem is elsewhere?
Chiropractors, like all health care professionals, have a range of different treatments at their disposal. There’s no one magic pill for every problem. Soft tissues (muscles/tendons/fascia) require different treatments to joints. Some treatments are very gentle, some are a bit more forceful. Some chiropractors use hand held tools to assist, or special areas of their treatment table to provide a drop or extra resistance. Everyone is a bit different.
As for me, I do prefer to use both hands-on adjustments (the joint cracking you might have seen or heard of) and various soft tissue techniques. I have a huge variety of different skills and vast experience. For patients who know what has worked in the past – let me know and I can likely perform something similar. For new patients who are a bit apprehensive or unsure – I’ll always explain everything before I actually do it, and can offer multiple options if something isn’t comfortable.
Generally speaking, the adjustments are NOT painful, the soft tissue can be. I’ll never do anything beyond what you can tolerate, and your consent to treatment is extremely important.
